Here are Tyvek Bags of Silica Gel - each bag contains 26 Grams of Silica Gel Beads.
Silica Gel collects moisture from the air ( up to 30-35% of its own weight, at 77 Degrees F & 80% RH) and when used in an enclosed areas like a safe, storage boxes, cabinets or even a tightly closed desk drawers it helps prevent rust, corrosion, tarnish, oxidation, mold, mildew, fungus, etc. However, unlike a sponge, Silica Gel remains dry and free-flowing at max. moisture adsorption.
Use these Silica Gel Bags to protect your coin collection, your guns or gun collections, put them in with your cameras – still and video, electronics cabinets to protect your CD players, VCR’s, DVD’s, etc. you get the idea. 1000’s and 1000’s of uses.
Each 26 gram bag (equals 1 “unit” per MIL Spec MIL-D-3464E) measures (approx.) 3 ½” L x 2 ¼” W x ½” H and will protect approx. 1423 cubic inches ( 0.83 cubic feet ) of storage
Silica Gel in Tyvek Bags, because of their inexpensive cost are generally discarded after their useful life is over. But if you do choose to reactivate them it is suggested to leave the Silica Gel in the Tyvek Bag, put the entire bag on a cookie sheet into a WELL VENTILATED oven. Place on the rack farthest from the heat source and leave the door slightly open to release the water vapor. Set temperature to 160 degrees Fahrenheit for 15-20 minutes, then increase to about 225 degrees F. Bake for 3 hours to remove about 50%-60% of the moisture, 6 hours for 75% or 9 hours for about 90% of the absorbed water. If the bag material starts to turn brown, reduce the temperature. Watch CAREFULLY as to not burn or brown the bags. After the allotted baking time, wrap the bags in aluminum foil and allow to cool.
